Questions

Is exporting services zero-rated under GST?

Yes. Export of services that meets the conditions in section 2(6) of the IGST Act is a zero-rated supply. You can either supply under a Letter of Undertaking (LUT) without charging IGST, or charge IGST and claim a refund. This tool prints the correct endorsement for either route.

Do I need a LUT to invoice a foreign client?

If you want to export without paying IGST, you must file a Letter of Undertaking (LUT) on the GST portal for that financial year (form RFD-11). Without a valid LUT you must charge IGST and claim a refund. The tool reminds you and prints your LUT ARN on the invoice.

What is a FIRC and why does it matter?

A Foreign Inward Remittance Certificate (FIRC) or an e-FIRC / FIRA is proof that you received foreign currency for the export. Your bank or the payment provider issues it. You need it to prove the export was realised (FEMA) and to support GST refund claims. Keep it with the invoice.

Why does the invoice show the currency code instead of a symbol?

On an international invoice a bare ' is ambiguous (US, Australian, Canadian, Singapore dollar). Spelling the ISO code - USD, EUR, GBP - is the unambiguous, bank-friendly convention and it renders identically on screen and in the PDF.

Does anything leave my browser?

No. This tool runs entirely in your browser. Your details and the PDF are generated locally - nothing is uploaded to any server.
